Just Dance is Now UK’s no. 1

January 19, 2010 Leave a comment

Just Dance is now UK’s no.1 overtaking Modern Warfare. This news might be surprising news Ubisoft isn’t surprised at all. Instead, they are thrilled as reported on ONM.

“We are obviously delighted with the number one spot,” said Marketing Director Murray Pannell. We could tell that there was massive sales potential given that we’ve been selling out across the UK ever since the game launched, with most retailers having a higher demand than they had stock, so whilst it’s extremely gratifying, the huge uplift in sales we had this week doesn’t come as a huge surprise to us,”

“I think that Just Dance is a terrific game that people of all ages really enjoy playing, so I don’t think it is a surprise that it has become so popular.”

Pretty cool, isn’t it? The game features real music and real dance moves, it’s for everyone to feel good and stay fit. Whether it’s with friends or family, the simplicity of its pick up and play controls carries out the dance party.

Avatar: Movie vs. Game

December 22, 2009 2 comments

You have probably watched AVATAR on 3D but is still wondering how it looks like if you’d play the game itself. Otherwise, you might have already played the game and the movie is the second-most-awaited thing for you. Just in case have not  done any of those yet or both,  and of course if you’re asking what Avatar is, here is a peek into the what you can expect with the movie and the game.

AVATAR: The Movie

Avatar the movie has made it to a whopping 79 million dollars so far with numerous sold-out premiers in the US and all over the world. The movie definitely took us to a breathtaking experience to discover Pandora and watch it come alive in 3D. Although, the story is weaved out of a common plot, the Na’vi’s-human interaction scenes, the beautiful weird creatures, and the Pandora scenes makes it a spectacular film to see in 3D. It is an incomparable movie and indeed, it sets up a bar for the film industry.

AVATAR: The Game

Avatar Game can be played on various gaming platforms PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PSP, and PC. The game on PS3, XBOX 360 and PC are with the same story, but Wii and DS each tells a unique story on their own.

The game is first and foremost not a prequel to the movie. The movie and the game story is not connected, they are separate.  In the game, you would find a number of characters that are not in the movie however, the Pandora setting is the same as with the movie. Moreover, the game timeline starts two years earlier than “that of the movie” (Wii story starts some years earlier).

All throughout the game, you will either choose to direct a Na’vi warrior, recover stolen artifacts, protect Pandora and play with your weapons such as staffs and knives and clubs, or assume the role of Abel Ryder, an RDA recruit and get the weapons like guns and war machines to subdue Pandora. The best part is that these are two parts offer a different game experiences. With either of the two characters, you will spend some full-blown battle in every juncture.

For an action game, avatar lacks on the feel of creating more thrilling fights, setting up challenging missions and fastening up controls. The game elements needs more polishing, but the story itself could take you to a close and personal battle action experience. Moreover, the outstanding game environment and graphics can easily sweep you off your feet.

Avatar game would probably sell after the amazing movie. But definitely, they are two different stories which happened to be on the same setting so each will give you different experiences as well. You don’t really have to do both. But if you’d watch the movie and you’re into games,  play the avatar game and see if for yourself!
